We are enjoying these fresh picked off the tree In the Prosperity Bowl from the Mount Vernon collection. Mount Vernon, George and Martha Washington's family estate, licensed this lovely design. The Washington's had a deep affinity for stoneware and creamware and used it extensively. Salt -glazed fragments excavated from the grounds were replicated in great detail for this pattern. The most well known style of the period, English Staffordshire stoneware was popular by ...Read more of post

Flowers brighten up every room. This little treasure is an exact reproduction of a porcelain purchased by Mottahedeh from Christie's auction in 1992 featuring recovered cargo of of the Vung Tao sailing ship. The ship sank off the coast of Vietnam in 1690. The recovered cargo consisted of over 48,000 ceramics, mostly Kangxi blue-and-white porcelain from the kilns of Jingdezhen. This miniature covered jar is 6 1/2 inches tall and is faithfully reproduced in minute detail.

Yes, our trays are not historic, but the story of the Sandwich is.  The sandwich has come a long way from a hunk of beef and cheese between bread.
“The sandwich as we know it was popularized in England in 1762 by John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. Legend has it, and most food historians agree, that Montagu had a substantial gambling problem that led him to spend hours on end at the card table. During a particularly long binge, he asked the house cook to ...Read more of post

Enjoy one of our best loved designs with our porcelain tray that exactly fits our guest soap.  ( We call it a guest soap for its small yet it is ample enough).   This sensual and brilliant soap is a pure delight, combining the intensity of blooming rose, jasmine and tart cassis with Damascus plum and white peach.  A base of golden sandalwood and liquid amber completes this unique formulation.
We traveled to Vermont to a fine soap manufacturer and ...Read more of post

Pizza- no sauce! Who thinks they would like to grow up to become a food stylist?  Our own, Paul, @Pauliedishes has already achieved his dream, but we don't think this started when he was a child.  If you can't resist sculpting the butter at the dinner table or finding new directions for the mashed potatoes, making a delicate rose out of a radish, you are probably safe in that regard.  We think the key to the most beautiful result  is to put your ...Read more of post
